Located above a tuff spur on the left bank of the river Fiora, a short distance away from the Tyrrhenian shore, in medieval times was the port of Tuscania, the tower and the fortalice testify this.
The historical centre of Montalto di Castro is characterized by the presence of small squares, narrow roads, walls and by the Castello Guglielmi.
