Tuscan archipelago: Giglio and Giannutri islands
A legend says that the Tyrrhenian Venus, whilst emerging from the waters, dropped seven pearls from her necklace into the sea, these pearls transformed into the Islands of the Tuscan Archipelago: Gorgonia, Capraia, Elba, Pianosa, Montecristo, Giglio and Giannutri.
The uniqueness and the beauty of these pearls can be enjoyed in every season.
You can reach from Porto Santo Stefano, with less than an hour’s navigation: Isola del Giglio, whose limpid waters, rocky aspect and the charm of the winding roads leading to the Castle are the settings of a region which is still wild and the Island of Giannutri, whose coast has plenty of wonderful caves and coves, and where you can find the remains of a great Roman Villa dating back to the 1st century A.C.
