Situated on the southern side of the Argentario Promontory, Porto Ercole is a suggestive sea town, which was dominated by the Spanish for a long time. Once you get there, you will first see its new area, a famous harbour with bars and restaurants. What fascinates methe most is the old city centre, inside the walls, at the foot of a Spanish fortress. You may reach by walking further along the road. Just take a stroll along its alleys and paths, small squares overlooking the see and staircases. It’s a suggestive place, closed to traffic, where the sea and the atmosphere of an old fishermen village dominate.
