Argentario is, for many, the High Tyrrhenian’s ideal sailing center. The Santo Stefano Yacht Club’s Federal Sailing School, an affiliate of the FIV – Federazione Italiana Vela (Italian Sailing Federation) sine 1961, it represents one of the Italy’s and the Tyrrhenian coast’s oldest, most famous and respected sailing organizations. Entertaining and informative sailing courses taught by qualified, federal FIV instructors are held there. The courses are focused on beginners and experts, on kids, teens and adults. They are divided by beginning, improving, training and regatas, and are held on small boat with mobile centerboards. In order to guarantee safety in the sea, the Sailing school also has three life boats. All students and the boats are completely insured. Further, as a guest of Villaggi Gitav, you can take advantage of special, discounted rates.

The Club degli Amici Camping Village beach hosts the Mal di Mare (Seasickness), a federal sailing school in operation for more than 30 years. In a particularly healthy climate in which “you feel at home,” Mal di Mare, since 1995, has focused its attention on the youngest and most fragile students. Not only education and technique as to sailing, but also listening to their problems and care of their relationship. For this very reason, many young students replicate their experience each year to the point of becoming extraordinary educational and emotional instructors. Since 2008, with the “Gioventù salata (salty youth)” route, kids between the ages of 13 and 18 have been involved in an incredible project: sailing for a few days together, dividing the tight spaces of the boat, teaches them about living together. And then, there’s The Handy Cup, Italy’s largest display of solidarity and sailing which is occurs while welcoming young and disabled participants on board, who in some way experience social discomfort first-hand. Not just school and training, but also an encounter, sharing, respect with the desire to touch, together as a team, the horizon.
